Aiba: Last year, I did Waku Waku Gakkou, Arashi Blast in Miyagi, and a tour. I have the feeling this year will be even busier and I am cheering myself on.
This year the existence of bleeding heart Aiba is warming everyone’s New Year, and we are speaking of his resolutions in a studio wrapped in his soft, warm presence on this shooting day, but maybe he’s only so comfortable because he’s winter-born.
Aiba: Even at home in the winter I’m wearing shorts! When I go out, I might wear a knit cap and gloves, but not this winter. I would usually have food delivered to my door. (laughs) I’m high tech! Instead of buying a lot of things, I use them as long as I can. The first thing coming to mind is warm baths! (laughs) I also like public baths, saunas, and I go during slow periods.I have free time even now, as I have since childhood.
It’s also fun to warm your heart in more adult ways!
Aiba: Yes, drinking beer! I also rely on the sweetness of cookies and chocolate. I take my favorite cookies on tour and watch a bit of TV and eat them by myself. if I go to bed early, it’s okay, right? (laughs)
To spend time leisurely at the end of the day generates warmth.
Aiba: By the way, recently, something heartwarming happened to me. My younger brother’s daughter was four at the time but she said, “here, take this”, and it was an origami tulip that she had made for me. But, she was shy, so she was crying a bit and rubbing her eyes. Her dad came to comfort her, and I had taped the tulip up in plain sight…But, speaking of girls, isn’t it cute to see faces half-buried in scarves, the scarves winding round and round? Even though it’s not cold yet I’ve been seeing it sometimes lately. It’s even cuter if the hair is all caught up in it. I always think, “let me fix it”! (laughs)
Be careful, you’ll be overflowing with girls from the city with windswept hair trying to warm your heart! It might become a trend in the city. Do you have anything to say to warm everyone’s mind this year? A resolution?
Aiba: I want to run a marathon. Normally, I can’t build enough muscle. I’ve been running indoors but I want to move to outdoors and I’m seeing a physician for advice. Eventually, I’ll feel healthy, and my only problem will be my teeth. (laughs) Out of my whole body, I guess I’ll avoid only improving my mouth for now!
